Elizabeth II Northern Ireland Framed Print 12ins x 10ins.
The original artwork was entirely sketched on an iPad Pro 12.9 using the Procreate App.
I retired from the Met Police in 2009 after 30 years, the latter serving as the Senior Police Artist at New Scotland Yard. I felt this new digital art piece was something I had to do, for an iconic woman who stood for so long and more than just a figurehead and the reigning monarch of this small island and various other commonwealth lands across the earth. In all her vast years of service which even outweighs my humble 30 years service under her, she represented this United Kingdom and Commonwealth all the good that we as human beings were and could become.
As I sit in my studio sketching with the door opened up to the damp Northumbrian air outside, my elderly faithful Samoyed hound, Lilly, sits guard at the doorstep, I am sketching and painting this piece, and for the first time I can recall, my eyes are becoming so tearful, maybe perhaps from a piece of dust or spec that has blown into my studio. Funnily enough it really doesn’t bother me as continue painting this piece to the memory of the only Monarch I ever knew who was like a stable rock and beacon against all the waves, big and small that continually crashed into my life since I was a child. Your Majesty, your light is gone and extinguished but in the process you have hardened my very soul and being for me to be able walk tall and proud with my head held high, all the better of having lived under you as a boy, served under you as an officer and finally watch you leave me as a man.
Elizabeth II thank you for your service.
The artwork is printed on high quality matt lustre FujiFilm archival photo paper and mounted inside a white or black mount, finished in a black frame.
